CARD VERIFICATION VALUE (CVV)

What is CVV?
CARD VERIFICATION VALUE (CVV)

CVV is an authentication procedure established by credit card companies to reduce fraud for "card not present" transactions (e.g. Internet payments).

CVV verification ensures that the customer making the purchase actually possesses the credit/debit card, and is not using a stolen or copied credit card number.

For your added safety and security, the payment service requires you to enter the CVV before your payment can be processed.

Where can I find the CVV?
Visa / MasterCard
The security code on a Visa / MasterCard is the last three digits that come after your 16-digit credit card number, on the signature panel at the back of your card.  Some issuing banks, though, only show the last four digits of the credit card number followed by the code:

American Express
The security code on an American Express Card is the four digits that are printed (not embossed) above your credit card number on the front of your card:

Diners Card
"The security code on a Diners Club card is the last three digits that come after your 14-digit credit card number on the signature panel at the back of the card. "
